Bernard Henusse welcomes adults into his home, an 18th-century farmhouse, for a spoken-French immersion built around phonetics. Founder of Real French, he has taught there since 2008 and worked with more than 400 learners from over 30 countries, from beginner to advanced. Today, he teaches alongside his son Théo, co-director of the school. Each stay begins with an individual diagnostic. The work focuses first on perceiving and producing French vowels, using the 14 vowels Real French has selected as its pedagogical working set, then on understanding spoken French at normal speed and taking part in conversation. Up to two students may stay at the same time, but each has a private one-to-one course; there are no group classes. Two formats are available: 18 lessons over three days or 30 lessons over five days. The private room and all meals, cooked by Véronique with local Breton produce, are included in one price.
