Responsible for ensuring proper, consistent, and successful implementation of the SABIS® methodology and system. Maintaining efficient and accurate analysis of results within the related department, training and evaluating teachers while providing them with constructive feedback when needed.
Job Description
1. Teaching a class using the provided lesson plans (may also be asked to develop such plans based on the provided pacing charts as relevant and needed) for their subject(s) in order to be able to teach using the SABIS® point system.
2. Marking exams related to the taught subject in accordance with the schedule and material provided by the department.
3. Discussing disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD) as needed.
4. Implementing the SABIS® Point System to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom.
5. Proctoring exams as needed while ensuring an adequate and properly managed test environment.
6. Providing support for the academically low-performing students through guidance and motivation to help them improve and reach their full potential.
7. Developing and/or following up on external exams preparation by going through previous exams as planned in the structured revision schedule (when applicable to specific grade levels).
8. Aiding in duties that may include testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunches and buses, controlling traffic (vehicles and people), and other administrative duties as assigned by the school management.
9. Preparing and participating in activity plans related to student life events such as but not limited to art, open houses, and physical education, in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator (SLC).
10. Attending training sessions when needed and as requested by the school management in order to enhance the understanding of the SABIS® system and improve the overall performance of students.
11. Managing substitute teachers in case of absent staff to ensure that classes are taught according to the lesson plans.
12. Checking the SABIS® AMS results and analyzing students’ performance and following up on failed concepts and any errors that may have occurred during the testing sessions.
13. Conducting class observations on a daily basis to ensure that the SABIS® Point System is properly applied and providing feedback to the teachers on their performance.
14. Meeting with the relevant staff to check on students’ progress and developing action plans to improve academic results.
15. Following up on teachers’ complaints with the AQC(s) and/or School Director.
16. Assigning marking and managing teachers’ timetables to ensure an equal distribution of workload.
17. Ensuring that all teaching materials (pacing charts, sample questions, basic questions, lesson plans, exam timetables, etc.) are available for teachers’ use.
18. Conducting the performance appraisals of the teachers in coordination with the AQC(s), while developing and following up on improvement plans.
19. Submitting weekly reports to the School Director and AQC(s) regarding the teachers’ performance.
20. Reviewing and/or suggesting the teachers’ classroom assignments at the beginning of the year for the different classes in order to ensure that each section has its most suitable teachers.
21. Conducting teachers’ training workshops to improve their subject knowledge and teaching methods for specific concepts while using the SABIS® system.
22. Providing feedback to the Regional Center on pacing charts, exams, curriculum, etc.
23. Organizing and managing the academic support sessions for struggling students, in coordination with the AQC(s) and SLC.
24. Ensuring that all teachers are following the pacing charts in a timely manner and developing action plans for those who are falling behind.
25. Ensuring that all classroom displays are updated and appropriate and that corridors are well maintained.
26. Ensuring that students receive the exam schedules, revision material, SABIS® AMS, and periodic and final study list as per the pacing chart (when applicable to a specific grade).
27. Planning periodic exams’ schedules in conjunction with AQC(s) and the Regional Center to ensure that all exams are conducted at the appropriate timing and correct frequency (when applicable to a specific grade).
28. Performing other related tasks as they arise and as delegated by the school management.
